FIFA Sustainable Ecologies Art Installation

Call for Projects

Submit your digital media artwork to be projected at the iconic Rice Entrance-1 (Main/Sunset). Works should celebrate native Gulf Coast ecologies; Resilience; Low‑impact design; and Sustainability. The Installation will serve as a key feature of Rice's public-facing showcase during the 2026 FIFA World Cup Houston activations.

What we're looking for

Artistic Strength & Clarity

Compelling visual execution paired with a clear, focused concept.

Originality

Fresh ideas and a distinctive perspective that stand apart.

Ecology

Work that engages with the natural world and ecological themes.

Sustainability

Concepts that reflect care for the future and sustainable thinking.

Themes

Choose one or blend thoughtfully:

  • Native species and habitats (live oak guilds, pollinators, migratory birds, etc.)
  • Climate resilience, shade/heat, circular materials, water stewardship
  • Sustainability & Resilience Planning and Development

Your digital art will be projected onto circular medallions adorning Rice University's front gates.

Use the previs portal to see how it will look on the gates.

Upload your MP4 file through our submission form. We handle the projection.

Preview Your Submission
